ANTIPODEAN GELATO
This Frankfurt ice cream parlor opens behind a large, apricot-colored entrance that draws the attention of passers-by to the inside of the small store.
The views are to be directed to the inside, to the place of action, in this case to where the ice cream is made. Long, colourfully mirrored lamellas stretch along the ceiling to the back of the transparent production. There, the ice cream is prepared fresh on site every day and customers are invited to watch the process.
The sales area inside is designed in a clear and friendly way with bright colors. On closer inspection, one discovers many brass details and the play of colors of the sales counter cladding.
It is clad with a graphically perforated sheet metal, allowing the orange colour behind it to shimmer through. Together with the likewise orange marble, the counter becomes a showcase for the gelato.
